Hello, Geisler Martin!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

File:120411 Nabburg-Rathaus-mit-Kirche 1-1350x1150 75.jpg[edit]

Viele Grüße --Saibo (Δ) 19:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Entzerrt[edit]

Viele Grüße --Geisler Martin (talk) 06:34, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
PS. Hast Du noch mehr solche "schräge Vögel"?

Naja, schon immer wieder mal.

Dank! --Rudolph Buch (talk) 17:46, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Artur Loesche.jpg which you uploaded has been tagged with OTRS pending for more than 30 days. This tag indicates that an email setting out permission to use the file was sent to the Volunteer Response Team. Neusiedlersee[edit]

Hallo Martin,

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. INeverCry 19:16, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Heinrich Kluibenschedl.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Einladung zur WLM-Fototour Erfurt 29. - 31. August 2014[edit]

Hallo Martin,

Dear Herr Geisler, I am a musician in Toronto, Canada, planning a concert about Bach and the municipal music in Leipzig. I am writing to see if I could have permission to project the image of the Stadtpfeiffer street in Leipzig for about 5 seconds during the concert. All the best, Alison Mackay

Dear Mister Mackay, there is no problem. The picture in Wikisource is free for this purpose.

Stürzende Linien[edit]

Guten Abend Martin,

Beste Grüße, Ulamm (talk) 18:36, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
